We just moved into our house a couple weeks ago and already the projects have began. I have a long list of stuff I have been itching to get my hands into and finally, I can get to work. I started with one of my favorites and I am so excited to share it with you. . .
It’s the painting I did for Everett’s camping theme bedroom. I got this scene idea from Everett’s favorite book, The Brave Little Camper that we purchased from Target. It even has a button that you can press to make sounds of the night. He just loves this book and he tries to mimic the sounds. My favorite is when he howls like the owl.
This is just the beginning, there is so much more I have in store for his bedroom. I plan to make a cute hanging arrangement for above his dresser that will have an adventure theme. A lot of my pieces came from Hobby Lobby. They have an entire collection of wall decor that was so perfect for my adventurous little man. Check it out!
All of this wall decor came from Hobby Lobby with the exception of the middle painting. The middle one I painted for this collage. The fox has a special place in my heart because it reminds me of my Grandpa Al, who past away about five years ago. When ever I see a fox, I always think of him. I’m also hoping to find some Minnesota signage and an field guide for animal tracks. I’ve also tasked my husband with a small woodworking project. Dad’s gotta make his mark on the place too! I’m having him make some teepee shelves. These are really popular on Etsy and you can find them there too.
I have a huge passion for the great outdoors. A large chunk of that love came from my childhood summers at Clearwater Forest, MN. My family owned a little camper up there and every year we went up north to enjoy the great outdoors. To me, there really isn’t anything better than the smell of a campfire and I don’t really mind getting dirty and smelling like the woods; It’s only natural to me. In fact, I think sometimes I feel more at home when I wonder into the great outdoors. I hope to share this same love with Everett and instill a sense of adventure in him at a young age.
